Mangione made his debut in the role of Luigi in May 2024 in Weimar, earning brilliant reviews from critics who praised his ‘mastery and confidence’ (Online Merker) that allowed him to ‘stand out above everyone’ (Thüringer Allgemeine). A connection with Puccini that during the 2024 season saw him return to perform Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Theater Aachen, in a surprising jump-in less than twenty-four hours after his performance of Calaf at the Landestheater Detmold. Calaf is the other Puccini's debut of 2024, a role for which he has been named as ‘Best Debut 2024’ by the renowned magazine Der Opernfreund.
