Paolo Mascari debuts Maduff in Verdi's Macbeth
On September 21st Paolo Mascari will make his role debut as Macduff in Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth at the Teatro Lirico di Spoleto.
The 78th opera season in Spoleto will then see him perform the role on September 24th at the Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia and on September 27 at the Teatro Comunale di Todi.
Mº Carlo Palleschi will conduct, while the direction is by Luigi Di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi.
The Verdi role comes for Mascari after his brilliant success in the role of Peter Quint in The Turn of The Screw at the Festival dell'Accademia Chigiana di Siena and in the double role of Adone Vigorelli and Dottor Polcevara in the contemporary diptych La Smorfia (B. Bettinelli) and Procedura Penale (L. Chailly), under the baton of Marco Angius, also as part of the Spoleto season.
The young tenor's next engagement is the opening, on 27 October, of the season of the IUC - Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti dell'Università La Sapienza di Roma performing Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Orchestra da Camera Canova conducted by Maestro Enrico Pagano, the choir of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma conducted by Maestro Ciro Visco and, in addition to Mascari, Elisa Balbo (soprano), Benedetta Mazzetto (mezzo-soprano) and Giacomo Nanni (baritone).
