On November 9, the Italian conductor Andrea Solinas returns to the Mersin State Opera, of which he is General Music Director, to conduct Puccini’s Tosca, after the success of his performance on the podium of the new production of Carmen. 

 

Aliye Sevinç Demirağ will perform the title role beside Emre Akkuş as Mario Cavaradossi and Cüneyt Ünsal as Scarpia. The production is directed by Kenan Korbek. 

 

Solinas is a celebrated Puccini’s conductor. Among his recent achievements are: Puccini Gala hosted by the Turkish government in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Ankara, with Gianluca Terranova (tenor) and Sergio Vitale(baritone) performing the Messa di Gloria; Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Carcano di Milano, for which the press praised him for his “endless elegance”.
