November 16: Andrea Solinas conducts the Verdi Requiem with Ferruccio Furlanetto
Last year, the collaboration between the Italian Embassy in Turkey, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Turkish Government has led to two major events in Ankara: The Verdi Requiem for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey(soloists Buyukedes, Karayavuz, Ganci, Zanellato) and a Puccini Gala with Gianluca Terranova and Sergio Vitale.
On November 16, 2024, in the extraordinary setting of the Atatürk Cultural Center, the cohesion between Turkish institutions and the Italian representation will be renewed, once again under the sign of Verdi and the Messa da Requiem.
Solinas will conduct Verdi's masterpiece on the podium of the Istanbul Opera House Orchestra and Chorus. The vocal quartet will feature Mine Kurtoğlu (soprano), Ezgi Karakaya (mezzo-soprano), Efe Kișlali (tenor) and the historical singer, bass Ferruccio Furlanetto, as extraordinary guest.
Then Solinas will return to the Mersin State Opera (where he is General Music Director) for Carmen (November 19) and the premiere of a new production of Die Entführung aus dem Serail (November 30).
