June 29: Diana Alexe as Violetta, headlines the Opera Aperta Festival of the Romanian National Opera of Cluj-Napoca

BR-Klassik defined her Violetta as “impressively inhabited by her character, through her brilliant silver voice”: On June 29, Diana Alexe returns to perform the title role of La Traviata at the Opera Națională Română of Cluj-Napoca, exceptional guest star of the Opera Aperta Festival 2025, the series of events that opens the  doors of the theatre (the first National Romanian theatre) to a wider audience by performing in some of the most symbolic places in the cultural centre of Transylvania.

Alexe states: “It is a big emotion to perform for the first time Violetta in my country. Romania produced some of the greatest performers of this role: from Virginia Zeani, Ileana Cotrubaş, Eugenia Moldoveanu to Angela Gheorghiu (my fellow citizen): I hope to follow in their footsteps”. 

Verdi’s masterpiece will be performed in Piața Uniri (centre of the city and main stage of the festival). David Crescenzi will be on the podium of the Cluj Opera Orchestra, while the production is signed by the French director Nadine Duffaut. Next to Alexe, Eusebiu Huțan (Alfredo Germont) and Geani Brad (Giorgio Germont).
